VRS started in a Manchester laboratory cluster, not a generalist recruitment office. The founding team came from analytical chemistry, life science research, and instrumentation backgrounds. Over twenty years later, that hiring criterion still applies to every consultant we bring on: technical literacy is the entry requirement, not the bonus.

How long has VRS been operating?
Since 2005, with a head office at Alderley Park in Cheshire and a dedicated VRS Scotland operation supporting the Edinburgh, Dundee, and Glasgow life science clusters. We've placed candidates into UK scientific employers continuously across that period, including through two recessions and the pandemic.
