About Me
Joining VRS in 2012, Simon has built a wealth of recruitment across various specialist scientific sectors. With his academic experience in synthetic organic chemistry, Simon has placed candidates across medicinal chemistry & process chemistry and also translated his scientific background into VRS’ specialist Analytical Chemistry sector and enjoys searching for & identifying niche skill sets in various application areas from proteomics to impurity analysis.
He is also key account holder for UCB, a pharmaceutical company in the UK, and has also developed a strong recruitment record in Life Science positions including antibody discovery, protein expression, bioprocessing & immunology.
Outside of work, Simon is an avid sports fan and enjoys nothing more than settling down to an old episode of Time Team.
Having long held the title of the office's slowest driver, Simon recently silenced his critics by setting record lap times on a team go-karting trip. Unfortunately, a suspicious incident in the final race robbed him of victory, allowing colleague Daniel Thomas to claim the top spot. We're assured he's not bitter about it.
